Celebrating I.M. Pei in Film: A Place to Be, Oct. 7

AIA|DC will host a World Architecture Day screening of A Place to Be, a documentary film about I.M. Pei's National Gallery of Art East Building through interviews with Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Joan Miro, Robert Motherwell, and Jean Dubuffet as well as then-director J. Carter Brown. Footage includes rare insight into the East Building's signature tetrahedron skylights as well as formwork for its triangulated concrete coffers.

The screening will be presented by local architect and educator Donna Kirk, AIA, who has worked at the National Gallery of Art's design office for more than three decades.
